About WikiEspressoMachine

WikiEspressoMachine is a plain record of espresso machines on sale at the store: manual levers, semi-automatic and super-automatic machines, capsule machines, and the grinders built into some of them. Each page notes what the listing says about a machine and what it cost on the day we looked.

Read from the title, nothing added

Machine type, a built-in grinder, pump pressure, boiler type, tank size and the milk system come straight out of the listing's own title, worded as the seller wrote it. Where a title is silent about the boiler or the tank, the line is left blank. Nothing is guessed from a picture, and no figure is converted to make two machines look alike.

Nobody here has pulled a shot

No one on this site has tamped a puck, steamed milk or counted a warm-up in seconds. There are no photographs of our own here, no star ratings, and no remarks on how a shot tastes or how a steam wand feels, because we would be inventing them. Questions about water hardness, descaling and safe use belong with the maker's manual.

A price and the day it was read

A price on WikiEspressoMachine is the figure in the store's listing, shown beside the date and time we read it. Once a listing goes stale the price is taken down rather than left to mislead, and the page sends you to the store for the current number.

How the site pays its way

WikiEspressoMachine takes part in the Amazon Associates program and may earn a commission if you buy after following one of its links, at no extra cost to you. Where a machine sits in a list is decided by its price and your filters, not by what a seller might pay.

The guides set machines side by side on stated specs and price. Pump pressure, boiler types and portafilter sizes are explained in the Learn pages, which draw on maker manuals and published standards. How many machines we cover is stated on the front page.
